LOS ANGELES, CA – Award winning recording artists Kelly Price and Dawn Robinson took the stage this weekend in the stage production of NOT YOUR MAMA’S MONOLOGUES presented by SangGirl Management and A Source Of Joy Theatricals/Broadway. An overflow crowd packed the Complex Hollywood Ruby Theatre, in Hollywood, CA where they laughed, cried, and rejoiced with the stars of the show.

The audience was filled with fans, celebrities, and industry movers & shakers all their in support of two R&B music icons. Outside the theater fans lined the streets and waited for hours to see the stage show which promised to be a performance unlike anything either lady had done in the past; the Divas did not disappoint.

Directed by Torrey Russell (Founder of Broadway in the Hood) and written by Price and Robinson, the monologues were emotional, funny, and entertaining. Price gave a stirring performance as she took the audience on a personal journey with her through sexual abuse as a child, hypocrisy in the church, and feelings of inadequacy throughout her life. Her sincerity grabbed the audience and kept them on the edge of their seats as she combined her monologues with her signature vocal styling. Robinson showed the audience she was more then one-quarter of En Vogue. She found her voice and shared experiences of shady deals early in her career, unfair treatment by managers and producers, and physical and mental abuse at the hands of her ex-husband.

The audience jumped to their feet as both Divas closed out the show with an empowering scene of encouragement, and strength. The ladies sang together, prayed together, and cried together making the show an emotional roller coaster filled with extreme highs, and dark lows. Taking to social media sites immediately after the show audience members raved about the outstanding performances of both Price and Robinson.

It feels very honest to hear when public figures go so PUBLIC. smoothing to the ear & healing for the heart. A way to smile about the past, present & future. To ALL Overcomings….may we all join together!……Well Done sistas

                        — Lisa Raye McCoy

Bravo ladies, your honesty and passion took your audience with you through the ups and downs in your lives. I felt every word you said and so did those around me. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I love the powerful message; Victory!

The NOT YOUR MAMA MONOLOGUES; a stage show written by Kelly Price and Dawn Robinson, and directed by Torrey Russell (Founder of Broadway In The Hood) is at times hilarious, brutal, disconcerting, poignant and is the raw result and actual account of moments in the lives of two of R&B music’s leading ladies Dawn Robinson and Kelly Price. Robinson lights up the live theater stage with her unique perspective on what it’s like to finally find her own voice in an industry where she was forced to remain silent, while Price recounts a moment in her childhood that changed her life, and shaped her view of people, relationships, and her self-image.
Now living in Los Angeles Kelly Price is expanding her view again and is pursuing, screenwriting and more acting. She continues to write record and wow crowds all over the world with live performances successfully marrying both her gospel -roots and her R&B favorites in her own unique and inspirational way.
About Dawn Robinson
Dawn Robinson’s career reads like a roadmap on how to become a star. Born in Connecticut and raised in Oakland, California, she started to hone her singing skills at age17 in local clubs throughout the Bay area. In 1989, Dawn auditioned for what would become one of the best selling female groups of all time, En Vogue. Her outstanding audition positioned her as a standout presence among 4 very talented individuals. As the provocative lead singer on most of the groups hits, she became a fan favorite with her distinct voice which was featured on number Billboard Chart toppers like, “Don’t Let Go”, “Giving Him Something He Can Feel”, “Never Gonna Get It”, “Hold On” and “Free Your Mind”, selling over 35 million records world wide.

Dawn flipped the script when she left En Vogue in 1998 and joined up with Raphael Saadiq (Toni, Tony Tone!) and Ali Shaheed Muhammed to co-launch the eclectic trio, Lucy Pearl. Their critically acclaimed, self-titled debut album hit gold.

April 11, 2013 – Girl in Charge Public Relations adds motivational speaker and financial advisor Anita R. Johnson to their roster of clients. Her recently released guide to financial literacy Big Girls Don’t Cry: Taking the Emotion Out of Finance is a step-by-step manual for women to assist them in gaining financial security.

Anita R. Johnson motivates women across the country on her weekly radio show “Money Wisdom for Women,” along with speaking at conferences, book clubs, and seminars. Her inspirational story of survival after divorce and financial downfalls is the perfect blueprint for women facing financial challenges in their life. Her clever anecdotes and empowering words help uplift those moving into a new phase of their lives whether it be divorce, the loss of a spouse, career changes, or embarking on new business ventures.

With a Bachelor of Business Science in Financial Accounting, and a Masters of Science in Taxation, she saw many of her female clients lost when it came to their finances. She decided to make it her mission to help women gain financial independence.

I am determined to help as many women as I can gain the knowledge needed to build financial security and usher their families into a new lifestyle of long term wealth building,” said Ms. Johnson.

LOS ANGELES, CA – In response to current reports regarding the R&B group En Vogue and the legal proceedings between founding members Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones, my client Dawn Robinson would like to make it very clear that she is not, nor has she ever been in a legal battle over the use of the En Vogue name.

Ms. Robinson left the group many years ago, and at that time gave up the legal right to use the name En Vogue for personal performances. She is currently in production on the new reality series R&B Divas LA; a spin-off of the popular reality series R&B Divas Atlanta, she is also working on new music, and authoring a book.

Although Ms. Robinson is saddened that her former band members are in the midst of court proceedings, she wishes all of the ladies well and hopes they can move forward and allow the En Vogue brand to continue to represent talent, class, and dignity.

She has been out of the public eye for several years and took that time to reflect on her career and personal life. Although there was great success achieved as a member of En Vogue and Lucy Pearl, it is now time to concentrate on projects that mirror her energetic, fun, and slightly eclectic personality. She is looking for Funky new music that showcases her Sultry voice and Rocker edge, while reading scripts and working on her personal memoirs.

Dawn gave a short performance for LA fans during a taping of R&B Divas LA, and as you will see vocally and physically she is just as sexy and captivating as ever: http://youtu.be/2NI3PdS38TY?t=39s

Los Angeles, CA – Dawn Robinson, former member of En Vogue and Lucy Pearl joins the Los Angeles cast of R&B Divas. Known for her sultry voice, sexy style, and fiery personality Dawn is prepared to open up and speak freely about her amazing success with En Vogue, and the ups and downs of life after leaving a multi-platinum group. The show starts taping this month and is slated for a third quarter debut.

Once a member of one of the hottest groups in the 90’s, she truly made her presence known among the talented quartet and became a fan favorite. Her distinct voice can be heard on many of the groups hits including “Don’t Let Go,” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel,” “Never Gonna Get It,” “Hold On,” and “Free Your Mind.” The group sold over 28 million records worldwide, garnered multiple platinum albums, several awards, and the honor of being named one of the most successful Girl Groups of all time.

Dawn is positioning herself for an explosive comeback. She is excited about R&B Divas LA, and the talented cast. . Never one to shy away from setting the record straight and laying it on the line, she will talk freely about her experience with the group, but doesn’t intend to dwell on the past. Where her life is taking her is her focus for the show and her incredible journey back to the top of the charts.

Ready to begin a new chapter in life she faces fears that affect people from all walks; am I good enough, can I have it all, and where do I go from here?

“Being a part of En Vogue was an amazing experience. The group achieved a level of success that few music groups ever achieve and for that I am humbled and grateful, but now it’s time to focus on Dawn and where my path will lead me. Being a cast member of R&B Divas LA is going to be an incredible opportunity for me to hang with women I respect and who understand the difficulties associated with re-inventing yourself in this industry,” said Dawn.

Musically, the world is familiar with Dawn of En Vogue and Lucy Pearl, but there is so much more to Dawn Robinson; Woman, Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Author and Designer. She is prepared to take the entertainment industry by storm with all her new projects, including the development of her own girl group “GLAMM.” Dawn is finally in a place in her life where there is clarity and confidence. Her new journey will catapult her to yet another level of success and she invites the world to join her

November 29, 2012 – “I’m Glad” by Bishop “Mr. Clean” White debuted at #7 on the Billboard Charts and continues to hold its position for the 2nd week. The new CD on Flow Records was released November 06, 2012, and became the labels 10th straight top 10 placement since its inception.

The Traditional Gospel CD is sure to be a classic with church folks around the country. The project blends Old School Gospel with a little contemporary production by Myron Williams. The songs and lyrics are still sermons put to music. The message and sincere delivery makes listeners feel the comfort and blessings received at an evening at church when the Spirit fills the service. The anointing on “I’m Glad” is apparent to those that have had the pleasure of hearing the entire CD.

This is Bishop White’s first CD since his open heart surgery, and is a testament to his faith and love for Christ. It is his first solo project to appear on the Billboard Charts, however he has enjoyed success as a writer of songs such as “The Safest Place” performed by Karen Clark Sheard and daughter Kierra “KiKi” Sheard, as well as Gospel classics such as “It’s Almost Midnight,” and “Your Life is Not Beyond Repair.”

“As Bishop White has said many times before, he is a preacher first and Gospel singer and song writer second, so the anointing felt when he is preaching naturally comes through when he ministers in music. I’m just happy it was this project that gave Flow Records our 10th straight Billboard placement. It’s been a long road, but we have ultimately put out great music at Flow that ministers to the Body of Christ,” said Myron Williams, President of Flow Records and producer of “I’m Glad.”

Flow Records has been one of Gospel Music’s most successful Independent Labels with a string of chart toppers from former label president Juanita Bynum such as “A Piece of My Passion,” “More Passion,” “Christmas At Home with Juanita Bynum,” “Pour My Love on You,” and her collaboration with Jonathon Butler “Gospel Goes Classical,” along with Myron Williams “Made to Worship,” and “Thankful.”

Bishop White will continue to visit churches and radio stations across the country promoting the new CD, while keeping up with his busy preaching schedule.

If you would like to schedule an interview or book Bishop White, please contact GICPR, 323-972-4081.

November 8, 2012 – One of the legends of Gospel Music Bishop Richard “Mr. Clean” White has declared “I’m Glad” his new CD in stores now is the best music he’s ever done; that coming from a man who has penned over 300 songs in his career. The live recording on the Flow Records label hit stores November 6, with its single “I’m Glad I Don’t Look Like What I’ve Been Through” climbing the charts at a steady pace.

The new CD is full of songs that make you get out your seat and Praise the Lord. From the time you put the CD on Bishop White leads listeners through a Praise Party telling you to “Let the Healing Begin”, then he lets you know God is always there “When it Really Counts”, and testifies “I’m Glad I Don’t Look Like What I’ve Been Through.” Bishop White is a great story teller and shows his ability on the heart stirring song “In the Hills,” with a special feature by Crystal Rucker, and goes on to let the Saints know “God’s Got a Blessing For You.” In addition to Crystal Rucker, Bishop White also features guest appearances by Dorinda Clark Cole, Myron Williams, and Demarcus Williams.

“I am a preacher first and a Gospel singer and writer second.” Bishop White recently stated in an interview. “I’ve been preaching over 40 years and my songs are just an extension of my sermons. All my songs are sermons with music,” said Bishop White.

A survivor of Triple Bypass Surgery, Gallbladder removal, and a tumor in his head as a child; Bishop White is truly a walking testimony. This powerful CD is the result of all of his prayer and faithfulness over the many years. The anointing can be felt as soon as you hear the first song and continues throughout the CD.

The new project was recorded live at the 2011 Women’s Convention in Dallas, TX, and produced by platinum producer Myron Williams. The president of Flow Records has a long track record of successful projects having worked with people such as Marvin Sapp, T.D. Jakes, Juanita Bynum, Kim Burrell, Micah Stampley, and many others he has the ability to pull the best from those he works with, and ultimately does this with Bishop White.
