June 4, 2009 – Nicki Micheaux anxiously awaits two important events this summer, the birth of her second child and the season premiere of the critically acclaimed family drama “Lincoln Heights.” Season 4 of the award winning drama starts, August 4, 9/8c, on ABC Family.
Nicki’s role as Jen Sutton has developed into one of the most passionate and .vibrant characters currently on television. She gives viewers something that is rarely seen; an African American woman with a subtle strength, that has the ability to work all day, take care of the kids, and still have an affectionate and loving relationship with her husband. Not only is she a force in her home, Jen Sutton is a support system in the community, which is something Nicki takes to heart. When she’s not taping the show she lends her support to organizations such as the Jenesse Center in Los Angeles, a domestic violence intervention program, and the voter registration and education campaign My Hood Votes. Nicki’s character has become a fan favorite, garnering her two NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Drama.
Not unlike the character she plays on “Lincoln Heights,” Nicki is a career woman who manages to juggle her roles as wife, mother, and actress. Currently pregnant with her second child, she is in a good place in her personal life, and career.
“I’m excited about the new addition to my family, and I’m working on a show that I feel is very relevant and needed on television right now. I couldn’t be happier,” said Nicki.
