The 48th Annual National Black Nurses Association Conference is Going Virtual in 2020

SILVER SPRING, MD, August 20, 2020 – The National Black Nurses Association Inc. (NBNA) will transition their annual conference to a virtual format this year for their expected 4000 attendees. The 48th Annual National Black Nurses Association Conference will be held September 24 – 26. The theme of this year’s event is “Nursing Resilience: Disruptions in Practice, Research, Education, Policy and Entrepreneurship.”

“We are beyond excited to host NBNA’s 48th Annual Conference entirely virtual! “says Dr. Martha A. Dawson, President of the National Black Nurses Association. “We know that this season has been unprecedented in human history. We know how incredibly resilient you are as frontline nurses, and we are excited to celebrate and thank you for all the contributions you make.”

The NBNA will recognize the tireless efforts of thousands of nurses who are risking their health and wellbeing, while working on the frontline of the deadly Covid-19 Pandemic. In these unprecedented times it is the work and effort of nurses of all levels that are saving lives at the risk and safety of their own welfare. This year’s conference will be very different from times past, but one thing will stay the same; each and every attendee will be celebrated and uplifted for the heroic work they do. The theme of this conference holds true to the climate of today’s world. Words like resilience, disruption, research,
policy, education, and entrepreneurship are key to the survival and perseverance of so many that have put their lives on the line to heal and comfort those in need. The conference will celebrate and hopefully inspire nurses to stay in the fight and continue to elevate themselves through continuing education, mentorship opportunities and networking.

The NBNA conference team has gone to great lengths to ensure attendees are provided with breakout sessions, notable speakers, panelists, and entertainment that will elevate their experiences and give a sense of togetherness and unity even in a virtual format. In addition, they are including fun and exciting opportunities to network and socialize with stellar entertainment and themed events. NBNA will celebrate each other’s accomplishments and academic achievements.

“Each year, our NBNA conference has made a substantial impact on the professional development of nurses across the country. Sit back and relax! Enjoy our virtual connection as we share our knowledge, skills, and talents”, stated Dr. Eric J. Williams, Immediate Past President and National Conference Chair.

Attendees will leave with a new arsenal of perseverance and power as they build their inner strength with the help and care of their peers and supporters.
