The Los Angeles Chargers Have Partnered with A Step to Freedom to Warm the Streets of Los Angeles During their Annual Giving Event

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Chargers have officially partnered with A Step to Freedom (ASF) as sponsors of, Warm the Streets, a giving event that provides blankets to thousands of unhoused individuals annually. Volunteers, community leaders, and ASF staff members will take to the streets of South Los Angeles, Inglewood, and Downtown Los Angeles in a 3-day concentrated effort to reach some of the city’s most vulnerable individuals as the cold season approaches.

Who: ASF and the Los Angeles Chargers, Representative from Supervisor Holly Mitchells office, Councilman Curren Price Jr., along with volunteers, ASF street team members, and additional invited guests as they confirm.
What: Warm the Streets – Street teams will set out to distribute 10k blankets to homeless individuals in South Los Angeles, Downtown Los Angeles, and Inglewood over a 3-day period.
When: 11/11/21 – 11/13/21
Where: Starting Location – A Step to Freedom, 164 W. 80th Street Los Angeles, CA 90003

A Special Media Day will be held 11/12/21, 9:00 a.m. at 164 W. 80th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90003 – Invited guests will give brief remarks to the media and volunteers. A list of guests will be provided to media outlets prior to the event.

“Having the Los Angeles Chargers join our fight against homelessness is exciting. Their willingness to get involved in the community in such a significant way is huge. They recognized the importance of the work we are doing and didn’t concentrate on the size of our organization but saw the passion we have for the people in the community and our determination effect change,” said Kenya Kirkland, executive director of ASF.
